He spotted the words on a dentist’s sign
They spoke to him like a revelation
He decided he’d suffered long enough
It was time for a cessation
“¡No mas dolor!”

After sobbing and raging and sleepless nights
All the yearning and missing what could’ve been
They became his inspiration:
¡No mas dolor!

Driving through the barrio
He found his consolation
Not in the arms of a new love
But in the act of creation

Tapping his keyboard late at night
The words flowed as freely
As the tears before
No mas dolor… No mas dolor
¡No mas dolor!
