No Strings Attached

There is no dawn for the blind
Flashing lights on perpetual nights
Wandering like a stringless kite
Ever-patient through entanglement
Never reaching full heights
Wishing to flap but it knows not how
Yet it knows these holes
Will never keep it down
As long as the wind blows
It remains abound
No strings attached
Through field and meadow
Through sleet and snow
Past last words echoed
Past the seeds as they grow
Through the outstretched arms
And thoughts enclosed
The kite will go
With no strings attached
