fear stalking the gullible mind,
courageous souls nowhere to find,

my choice of food, someone else’s grail,
lynching humans in blinding rage,

my sense of humor, insult to another,
slaying humans in violent fervour,
oh! Faith, what have you done to man,

love that blossoms, of whatever kind,
banned by word from lawless times,
oh! Faith, what have you done to man,

burning innocents at the stake,
strangling cries in their wake,
oh! Faith, what have you done to man,

but upon this Earth, beyond this time,
as the age of Reason, awaits its rise,
oh! Faith, none shall grieve your demise.
