once we were sunshine
gentle breezes through tall grass
laughter swelling
sweet honeysuckle

once we were sunshine
shimmering across the sea
waves tossing
light-hearted dreams

once we were sunshine
sticking to hot air
breathing deeply
juicy flesh

once we were sunshine
burning the sky
clouds drifting
shadowy haze

once we were sunshine
swallowed by the night
only silvery memory
upon the moon
