ONE WAY TICKET

Within the four walls on the mountain top

A roof hid the memories brushed in the photographs

Clanged to the brick and there on the bed laid the corpse

Once told an account of passion and purpose

Now left the body with a smile on the profile

Memoirs shared on the walls

Revealing the journey — that untold story

Dreamt by many lost in the art of uncanny

Of the people in his twenties

For they signed the Kayfabe and led

Towards the patches of the crowd

While someone made the choice of never to be found

Amidst the busy chorus he discovered the song

Down there in the forest where his voice screamed

Rattling, rumbling, scribbling through the bucket list

To reach the peak and echo the sound

For death was sure, today or the other

That bird on the shoulder gave the answer to his fear

Is it today?

Was all he could hear

And when his last hope couldn’t find the nugget

He knew it was time for the one way ticket.
