Our Menagerie

We keep an elephant in every room,
and bats in the belfry.
My hare-brain and your donkey bray
make us a pigeon pair.
Cat O’Nine-tails keeps our
dog Tired from falling asleep.

I’m fond of the goosebumps
you give me darling.
Alligator shoes hide under our bed
and lion follows us everywhere.
Time flies when we
monkey around.

Our whole shack buzzes
with the honey of a thousand bees.
