REBORN
I died last night.
The next morning,
I was reborn.
The noises are missing.
My ears try to listen,
Only a deaf symphony.
Last night was a dance,
A revelry of chaos.
The screams are dead now.
The tempest long gone;
The skies are blue again.
The sea, black, not blue.
The lone tree sways;
Death didn’t come for it.
Defeated, it was, not the tree.
There is no rebirth,
For what’s lost of me.
No more voices keeping company.
The chaos was solace.
Friend too, dear child.
Now a desert is this sea.
But there is no rebirth,
For those like us, you and I.
I am you, death.
There is no end,
For those like us, you and I.
Reborn, yet dead.
