Redemption
Because
Life
is random in its circumstance
and careless, like the homeless wind
without judgment, only consequence
and though the universe be unimaginably vast,
mysteriously empty and dark,
we know, despite our plans
despite bright spirits and our good intent
despite sacrifice and sorrow and argument,
beyond the reach of poetry
to navigate infinity,
we know
Strange and terrible forces lie
largely hidden,
tugging on our future, even so,
even so,
Do not hide
and though we be but tiny beings
beneath the stars
wounded, bewildered
vulnerable and half-blind
in the raw,
incomprehensible glare
of beauty and piercing uncertainty, when
Faith is but a delicate shield, when
the universal web of elemental chaos overwhelms, still
Reach with courage, still
Walk with kindness
with the grace of mere sincerity
though the path be obscure
Know that you are where your own steps
have brought you
the release you seek is within your grasp to
Let go
So trust the precious, unspeakable wisdom
of your truest instinct to
lead you home,
Resplendent
in undiminished wonder,
Redeemed
with discipline, discernment
authenticity,
acceptance
and profound, childlike
Delight
