you’ll never catch a glimpse.

Your hands may feel empty
but they hold more than you see.
They built the world

Our bodies are vehicles
for pain, for love.
For in life,

when you look down
there still exists an above.

Look up:
ancient fingerprints
are swirled in the stars.
Look down:
They are the same as yours —
as intricate, as beautiful.
