River’s Trek

It began high up in the mountains,

as a tiny stream of sun-kissed snow.

Cool and fresh against the parched Earth,

it trickled its way down,

rising above pebbles,

sneaking past the trees.

It was soon joined by rivulets of its kind,

and the gushed in unison,

pausing at a knoll here,

hustling down a steepness there,

before emptying themselves into the waiting sea.
