Seeds

We loved like baby teeth
falling out slowly, first
one at a time, then all at once.
Leaving holes and gaps
for us to fill in, in each other.
We loved like raindrops
on the windshield of the bus.
Falling slowly, then
gathering momentum, racing
each other down the glass.
We loved like dandelions
Shyly poking out of the dirt.
Spreading our seeds across
each other’s skin,
creating fields of flowers,
impossible to get rid of.
