SEPIARA

Dreaming; the very texture of a dream
Woven brown, I found
Sadness, seeing Sepiara struggle
In a puce morass of fading depth;
Dismal music pressing down
The stagnant nothing of its bound;
Crying waves of molten sound.

Veiling seas of earth-toned mist,
Dreamlike, with sluggish hue
Around her crowned;
Her somber eyes and pallid form,
Enshrouded by a filmlike gown,
A garb of shattered brown,
A russet memory unsweet, unwarm.

I kneeled, I reached
Thru swirling shades
That screamed of brown;
Vapor-tears screened
Burnt umber images in my eyes
And dreamed of love all tinted brown
Dissolved in deepness as she drowned.
