With a mighty twist & swaying turn
I shred my self in the callous burn
for millilitres of acceptance in return

Stretching myself as thin as a crepe
full body contortion to fit the universal shape
of the average looking knuckle dragging ape

Too often, after too much grape
I pick at old scars till they gape
& walk upside down in pedestrian landscapes
with a head so low my diamond crown scrapes

But to be myself I have to escape
from the fear that makes us bait
for the mistake
that makes us hate
our truest self, our greatest great
