I try to escape my skin

And then climb back in

Take some comfort in just being ordinary

The perfect was a straight jacket

I couldn’t fit in

If you could be anybody

Would you just be yourself?

They say you shouldn’t let too many

Shoulds rule your life

It’s just the judgmental mind we all have inside

I’m alright with life except for all the thinking I have to do

Brain keeps chugging away

All day and all night

I rather watch a butterfly in flight

And think not a word about it

Nothing about patterns or beauty

Or twin symmetry

Just watch that fucker fly!
