When we both hear a noise
and we look at each other
at exactly the same moment
and it’s like we can read each others’ thoughts.

When we learn the circus we’ve stumbled upon
is actually a burlesque show.

When I realize I made a new friend.

When I realize how deep a friendship is
because I suddenly understand
how far I’m willing to go to protect them.

When I get nostalgic for my childhood.

When I feel a salty mist freezing my bare fingers.

When I discover a new story I can’t let go of.
When I discover I was ahead of the fashion trends by about three months.
When I can’t get over how soft my cat’s fur is.

When I can’t stop laughing long enough to explain what I’m laughing about.

“And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, ‘If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is.” — Kurt Vonnegut
