Sympathy For The Devil

They say History
repeats itself
but sometimes
it also mirrors itself.

You can sell these diamonds
when you’ll have a daughter…
if you are in need.

And keep this white glove
for me.

Everybody knows
that your deeds
should be bigger
than your mouth.

You too
will try to hide
your weakness
to the world.

So I forged this mask
to survive
when they sent me down.

You kept me safe
from sailing on the steel breeze.
A journey through the sewers
and coming back with no stink.

Don’t let them screw you,
my girl.
Screw them up you first.

It’s the law of Nature,
you will understand,
you said.

But Death
lied in wait for you
much before I left.

Now you, old devil,
you make fun
of my own weakness
from your grave.
