for the clear blue sky above where before there were grey skies.
And thank you for the rain that came after

to quench the fires.

Dear, dear, powers above:
thank you for all the pain and fires in my own life.

For today I have a quiet, blissful morning ahead of me.
I am sheltered.
I feel nourished and complete.

There is no blood bleeding out.
There is no terror in my heart.
There is now.
And now is what I am thankful for.
