The Birth of a Poem

It begins
In a breath
caught
and
a moment
stolen.
In thirsts
unquenched
and
hungers
denied.
In a kiss
returned
and
an embrace
shared.
In wounds
opened
and
screams
swallowed.
In a past
released
and
a sin
forgiven.
In cries
silenced
and
tears
unshed.
In a battle
ended
and
peace
bestowed.
In a word
broken
and
a dream
lost.
In beauty
beheld
and
wonder
born.
In a hope
chained
and
a future
held captive.
In storms
spent
and
life
renewed.
It begins.
