The Cost of Doing Business

The War on Terror; our plan to win that?
Hearts and minds and governance, oh my!
Battlefield labs and glorious combat!
As long as it’s not our soldiers who die…
“All this gear, these ops; the cost is too high.
Can we do more with less?” Yes. But the real
Price must still be paid. A heart that won’t feel
The love of a parent. The lonely hand
Of a lover, driven by grief to kneel
By a graveside — the fine print of the plan.
