The Dance of Three

Who are these three women who dance
in a circle that ever expands
and contracts? The hands are
firmly grasped yet loosely held:
giving, receiving, and giving again.
Reciprocated, the gift is changed
and so the circle continues on
a never-ending dance from
inauguration of creation.

Break the chain and break the world.
I wonder what stands outside
the circle or what subsumes?
What force was it that set these three
spinning time without end:
a Giver who does not receive,
but provides the means and gifts:
the Unbegun who stands alone
and plays the music for the dance?
