The Fallen

No animal has pupils like mine
staring into that endless sky
traverse to the motherless dream
no beast, no bird or swine
Voices that come out of me
says nothing about my reality
tears that traverse down these cheeks
cleanse only wounds skin deep
Beneath this iceberg fawn
a vast other world exists
Beyond this physical facade
a vast other spirit breathes
Drummer’s voice I hear
echo through my deeper ears
Move me into a rhythmic dance
Reverberates an endless joy
No animal has pupils like mine
I am no beast, no bird or swine
I am spirit, and so are thee
We are spirit, … collectively
