The Heimlich Maneuver

She swallows and chokes on
a can of raw disappointment
When her husband
decides to leave the house to
find God in
being a DJ, he
built his home before affording the house.

The husband so willingly
watches
her
struggle to breathe
For a couple of years.
Until failure
pushes him to pull out the Heimlich Maneuver.
He finds a job as a Data entry accountant
And they can now afford to have meat sometimes.

The daughter,
in her young age,
Decides to be a DJ too,
And succeeds almost immediately.

He swallows and chokes on
his can of raw
Jealousy.
No one around him knows the Heimlich Maneuver.
