The Sacrament Of Sleep

Lay my head down

And surrender to

The sacrament of sleep

Where I will perform

My nightly rituals of dream

Ford the flood,

Scale the cliff face,

Wrestle tigers,

Subdue bears,

Seduce the queen

And steal the king’s crown.

In life I float

In sleep I drown

But never die

I rise and rise

A coming tide

One of this nights

My day will arrive.
