The Silver Lining

That silver lining around the perfect cloud;
They look in anticipation.

Hope in the eyes of a farmer,
Who waits for the rains.
Hope in the newly wed bride,
For his love at the border.
Hope in the little girl,
Waiting for his father to come back and teach her the poems.
Hope in the eyes of the student,
Who searches for his name in the result.
Hope in the eyes for ragged person sitting on the road,
For not to sleep empty stomach this day.

But then the Cloud fades away,
And takes away the hope with it.
And the silver lining dims with it,
Taking the light away.

They look for it even in the day.
On a clear starry night.
Their eyes search for it,
Waiting,
Lingering;
For the dawn to break off,
For the smiles to come on.
