The Wait

This part of my life is where I wait,
Distracting the present,
Extracting thoughts,
Swinging my mind through optimism and failure,
Yet hold on to time-carved dreams of life with her,
Engage tears in the darkness,
To head strong in the daylight,
Faking happiness,
Yet smiling to rejoice in other’s togetherness,
Hoping to get past,
I exist,
To expect,
To trust,
To await,
My only story to turn real,
This part of my life is where I wait,
Wait for the one I love.
