This morning, God’s golden snow fell in the desert
The smell of sun’s light dries out morning dew
As it moves on to brighten desert hue
Sun light glowing small fairy plants bright
Shines on threads of glass spun by spiders
all night
Gleams bright red on Pyrrhuloxia feathers
And glows light pink thru many a cholla rose
Glowing, blowing, yellow blossoms all around —
In Mesquites’ fuzzy sunny bloom
Through Cat Claw pale yellow plume
Spotlighting Brittlebush glory
And gleaming grayly on Gnatcatcher wing
Then tickling the snowballs of Creosote’s bush
And extolling the beauty of Paloverde’s gold
This morning, God’s golden snow
fell in the desert
