Time to Choose

In youth, while walking the beach
he threw a stone into water,
watching the splash to know for sure.
that law progressed into order.

Therefore, ‘therefore’.

Like a bird he sang lusty from tree tops
and softly walked by the sea
till he met the woman
he thought he had dreamed of

and lay in her arms.

But soon he heard splash
of stone into water
and saw his own face
flash in her eyes.

Time to choose.

When young men
first see their own image,
they choose then
to live or to die.

Time to choose.

But living is dying
And dying is life.
Romantics must always die young.
