Time to go

I think I’m ready now
to pull my roots out of the ground.
I know I’ve stayed for far too long
and fear I no longer belong.
It’s time to open wings and fly.
It’s hard but I must say goodbye.
Sometimes I wish I could stay.
So much kindness to repay.
I am grateful. I hope you know.
The road is calling. I’ve got to go.
