Togetherness

Togetherness is a wonderful thing,
without it
sadness it brings.
Stories of our collective past,
no more
should we chose to part.
Different cultures
different beliefs,
diversity brings relief.
But more should be done
to protect all daughters
and all sons.
For the ability to move
from place to place
is not to be restricted
by belief or race.
Our borders need to be taken down
not redefined
for memories of past ‘glory’
that are ill defined.
