Tough Choices

I would very much

like

To light a candle

every time

that it turns dark

If only it were

As easy as

a snap

of the fingers

I’m not a one

To curse the darkness!

Not me!

(I do know better)

But some candles

Really do stink

And there’s not a thing

I can do

Every so often

Just pause and think..

This is probably

the best remedy

I can give

at this certain point

Some choices,

once taken,

never can you amend

Some darkness

has it coming

Our only hope

Is

we do better

as we age

and

we mellow..

Would I rather

light a candle

or

curse the darkness

a tough one it is

let’s just hope

I don’t die
