I awoke with a word in my head
Only one word
A Spanish word in feminine form
Verdadera

It translates (with other definitions) as:
True-as in a true friend or

So, I searched and verily found
That it comes from the Latin, ver
(Truthfully the Latin is spelled more like were-o, pronounced with a v).
