Turn back please

Weightlessness
An amazing feeling
Powerless facial muscles
Rushing wind wins
But I ain’t smiling
Ironical, isn’t it?
But too late now
No turning back.

Coldest air exchange
Shocked alveoli
Firing neurons
Busy calculating
Final velocity
Rapidly approaching
But too late now
No turning back.

Upside down world
Was it ever upright
Now it made sense
Swaying limbs
Resisting air
Pulling me back?
But too late now
No turning back.

Bluish clear sky
No halos for me
No clouds for me
Insignificant before
Empty after
Too many unknowns
But too late now
No turning back.

Decorated pavement
Muffled thud
Internal whiplash
Cracks open
Leaking life
Horrified faces
Too late now
But turn back… please?
