Under the Cooling Shade

Photo Credit — Me! Masai Mara, Kenya

How I long for the succour of shade

Striding through the long grass of life’s scorched savannah

Parched I am

Thirst drives me to the only font that quenches

That spring that gives long after it has run dry

Knowledge is my saviour

And under the cooling shade, I will consume it

Devour it

Till I am sated.
