Imagining
That there could be
A thing such as
A good,
A just war.

Perhaps there could.

But probably forever will
My pacifist heart
Remain reluctant
To accept —
And stop at the thought
Of telling little children
Whose playgrounds and schools
Were replaced by
The corpses of
Their loved ones
That such a thing
Exists.
