When The Light Goes Out

Days go by
high and low
Autumn’s cool breeze
makes the Light grow weaker
a poem one line short
but sometimes
it finds me unaware
and I’m still blinded
by its feeble glow
and its tepid warmth
stings like burning coals
and I wish I could blow
a tempest out of my lungs
to see what happens
when the Light goes out
and Life renews its flow.
