Will You Keep Me?

A raven rapped thrice on my door
Warning me of those things before
Now that I am all begun
At the edge where shadows engulf the sun
Will you keep me close to you?
I pray I find, I may see through
Collecting that final, unpaid due
In the winter of a grey not high and blue
Beneath the walls of the outer field
Where sane men weep and the widows flail
As sun sets three days for the coward’s meal
Breath taken asunder, for the gods to steal
Your freckles stars, your tears the dew
I pray you hold me near to you
Our secret dream, a world apart
Always green, our field at heart
