Within

Poem 3.30.17

It calms me to witness

Such beauty, such kindness.

Far beyond what lies on the surface

Of your shale exterior.

I gaze within,

Behind the soft of your eyes.

I can only imagine what trials you’ve faced

Yet still you continued

For sake of something greater.

Such beauty I’ve seen in you

What a relief to know that against all odds,

Happiness exists.
