Wonder-struck
I ponder how I got here.
Vastness before me, expands,
with every jaded step ahead;
Many colored mountains enshroud
the horizon; then disengage
into a million jigsaw pieces,
of a colorful assembly.
Trees green, soil mauve, flowers pink,
stones black and red.
Newer peaks and edges emerge
like veiled weapons glistening
from a suit of armor.
I catch my breath, animal instinct.
Assailed by this sheer attack of wonder
and a drained throat,
I turn around;
And digest the path behind me.
