TAKE BACK YOUR WORDS

Love given once
cannot be returned
except in your case
where your love came
wrapped in words
fickle and fake,
I tasted those words
with your tongue
they were bitter
and mostly stung,
this lip service
would be easy to end
with a finger
and two words,
but you deserve better
and I much more
so here I am
writing,
in the hope
to return
every little word
spoken and heard,
take them all,
even if that means
I may have none left
of my own.
