Worlds Apart

Now
we have really seen
those other worlds

before
colors beckoned us
clouds tempted us
forms played us the fool

now
fantastic eyes
show the lies
of their intimations

though
no less beautiful they call
no less spectacular they shine
across time
we see ourselves small
humbled at the contrast

now
give thanks
to He who every day renews
this singular creation
give thanks and hold gently
this finest jewel
in His crown of night
