Please bring back the promise of the 60’s, Christyl Rivers

I saw a film today, Oh boy,
About a world with no music of
A long ago, old timey band
And though the film was rather coy
I found an Apple joy

It blew my mind Out into a far
kaleidoscopic land
where thinking can expand

The 1960’s were a day
That dawned with
Holding hands and JFK
But before the 60’s
Slipped away
We stood upon the moon
Words without tune

‘Lucy in the Sky’ was playing
When they found an early human
Kind
I wonder just what Lucy felt
Living before the Beatles Sang a single tune,
Dancing under an untrodden moon?

Did she smile at holding hands?
Did she dream of music, hope, and love?
A Long and winding road to here,
Singing in her tribal bands?
