We’re thrilled to announce three new team members: Julia Morrongiello, Andreas Bodczek, and Renaud Visage.

When founders become VCs, they sometimes joke that they’re “moving to the dark side”. It’s kind of an old, worn out joke. And truth be told, it was already well-worn when I made the jump seven years ago. As far as Julia is concerned, I guess it’s fair to say that she came to us from the dark side, since she previously worked as an investor at Global Founders Capital, the venture capital fund of the legendary Samwer brothers. We’re just kidding, Oli. Julia had only nice things to say.

Joking aside, we’re super excited that Julia has joined us as an Associate a couple of weeks ago. Like all of us at Point Nine, Julia has a huge passion for tech startups and entrepreneurship. Unlike the rest of us, she was born in London, raised in Milan and Geneva, speaks 3.5 languages, and is a professional ski instructor. Julia loves online marketplaces and is a blockchain enthusiast, feel free to send her a note to discuss marketplaces and all things crypto!

As a co-founder & CEO of Fyber (a PNC I investment) and an LP of Point Nine, Andreas is a good old friend and has been part of the #p9family for many years. We’re all the more excited about the opportunity to work together more closely with him and to welcome him as a Board Partner. After a successful corporate-y career that culminated in the CEO job of a large German telco operator, Andreas co-founded Fyber in 2009 and led the app monetization platform to more than 300 employees and a 9-figure exit. In his role at Point Nine, Andreas will work closely with a select number of Point Nine portfolio companies to help them seize their full potential, while becoming a resource which the entire portfolio can tap into.

Last but most definitely not least, please meet Renaud Visage. Renaud is the technical co-founder of Eventbrite, which means that you’ve almost certainly used the product built by him and his team already. Eventbrite has become a large company by now, but as a Venture Partner at Index Ventures and an angel investor in around 20 startups (including our portfolio companies Algolia and Sqreen), Renaud always managed to carve out some time to support early-stage startups, one of his big passions. Like Andreas, Renaud is joining us as a Board Partner to bring his vast experience as a founder and engineering leader to the Point Nine portfolio. Renaud splits his time between Paris and San Francisco, please feel free to say hello! (or salut!)
