The numbers are in and it’s official: people like Mario. Quite a bit actually, if this Nintendo earnings report is to be believed.

Should be enough for a 1-Up, right?

Not exactly Earth-shattering news that everyone’s favorite mustached hero is still a powerhouse in the games industry, but the sales numbers he’s putting up might be. Within a matter of days, Super Mario Odyssey, the latest in the plucky plumbers 3D adventures for the Nintendo Switch, has already sold a staggering 2 million copies worldwide.

To put that in perspective, in that same report, Nintendo claimed that they have sold 7 million Switch units since its launch in March. This would mean in a matter of a weekend, Nintendo has put its mascot in the hands of over a third of the Switch’s user-base. This also puts Odyssey as the fourth highest selling Switch game of the year, trailing only Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which itself has sold over 4.5 million units across the Switch and WiiU versions — making it the highest selling game of the year so far.

With the holiday season coming up, expect those numbers to only grow.
