Unlike asset-backed stable coins, xUSD algorithmically tracks the value of the US Dollar. xUSD is part of the decentralized Haven network, which is built on a fork of the Monero codebase, this gives xUSD privacy-enhancing technologies and makes it a unique holding for investors looking to store value, privately.

- Haven Protocol, the decentralized network to which xUSD belongs, has been developed on a fork of the privacy chain Monero. This means xUSD benefits from all the privacy features of Monero with the additional benefit of being a stable coin.
- xUSD is unlike asset-backed coins that rely on a reserve of physical assets to underwrite their market cap. It is algorithmic, using mathematical models and XHV (Haven Protocol’s collateral currency) to maintain its tracked value.
1 xUSD can always be converted into 1 USD’s worth of XHV. This is possible because within the Haven Vault users are able to mint whatever quantity of XHV is required to match the value in USD. This XHV can then be sold on Polarity for fiat or other exchangeable assets.
