A Recipe for Disaster
The combination of new Executive Orders puts disasters on the menu for our Tribal Nations and sets the stage for a repeat of human rights violations within the United States.
Like a new chef and brigade de cuisine, in the kitchen of an established restaurant, the Trump Administration is floundering through new recipes for change — most of which put profits ahead of people — especially in Indian Country.
Three White House Executive Orders (EOs) starkly stand out as being harmful to First Nation people across the United States, in sovereign tribal nation land known as Indian Country. The table is being set to reverse decades of progress and return to U.S. Federal policies of cultural identity destruction in our Sovereign Tribal Nations. The word we found for all of this is ethnocide.
EO 14224 — English (only) as the official national language
We have already covered how this EO is highly discriminatory against people who use American Sign Language.
