Polinate is going Live On Polygon in September

Polinate awarded a grant by Polygon Foundation with its first product on Polygon, allowing creatives to raise funding from fans in return for rewards
Polinate chose Polygon as the go blockchain layer to build its ecosystem upon. Polygon is one of the most efficient and sustainable routes for any blockchain product right now, meaning it’s also one of the most environmentally friendly. As we’ve seen highs in prices of cryptocurrencies and they’ve gone increasingly mainstream, the industry’s expanding carbon footprint has become impossible to ignore. With issues occurring today around the world with the alarming global warming issues, it is more imperative than ever for us to make sure everyone does their best to help the environment for the generations to come.
The carbon footprint of a single transaction on Ethereum blockchain is the same as creating 50 paperback books. On Polygon a transaction has no more impact than sending an email. Understanding the difference between the two was why we made the decision that we did. Because while it was an important business consideration, making ones for the future of our planet matters to us even more.
Polygon’s transaction fees are far lower than most competitors and we wanted to ensure our users would be able to pay minimum gas fees, so that their funds could go to backing creators who need their support. Transaction speeds are also far greater on Polygon allowing, which will offer users the best experience when trying to back their favourite artists on the Polinate platform. This ends up being a double sided benefit for our users, who are after all the most important people to us.
The idea of gas fees has been such a big conversation in the world of cryptocurrency that when we started building this product, it was important to us to make sure that we built this on a platform that wouldn’t hurt our creators because of having to deal with such onerous gas fees as the ones on Ethereum. We couldn’t be happier about working with Polygon.
