PolisPay cards

We were overwhelmed by the amount of support and excitement from our community, so we wanted to take some time to answer some FAQ about the cards:

When will the card be released?

At the moment there is no exact release date, although the release is scheduled for the Q4. Stay tuned for further updates!

If I already had a PolisPay card, will I be able to use it?

If you had the PolisPay card issued by MasterCard, you wouldn’t be able to use your card as the providers have changed. Union Pay will provide new cards.

Will the beta testers from the past card remain the same, or will they change?

If you were a beta tester from the previous card, you would remain a beta tester for the new card.

I’m interested in being a beta tester. What can I do?

If you would like to apply for the new card, please fill out this form:

Community Management and Outreach

Our COO, Ricardo Bustos, recently did an AMA this past Thursday, August 8th. The interview discussed the future of the PolisPay app, the PolisPay cards, and Polis blockchain. Here are the highlights of the interview:

Note: answers from Ricardo are marked with an “R.”

When did everything start and how?

R: It began in 2017, I began working here in the early stages, I started as a community manager, and now I am the COO. I’m in charge of the development process and that everything comes out in time and in the right way. I’m also part of the Polis marketing team.

You had some issues with the Mastercard cards, what happened?

R: We were on the open beta we had everything ready. And one day we received a letter from Mastercard where they told us that we weren’t authorized to sell our cards the way we were doing it. There’s still a possibility that we return to Mastercard. Things are looking good with Mastercard, but we can’t promise anything yet, we are also in talks with Visa as a provider in Europe.

Any PolisPay card updates?

R: We have signed a contract with Union Pay we are waiting for implementation, and these processes will take approximately 3 to 4 months, so the target date is the Q4. Using the shift function, you’ll be able to change between currencies.

Is there a maximum supply for cards?

R: Right now, we have 500 cards for the Open Beta. For the public release, there will be more cards.

Will the beta be worldwide?

R: It will be worldwide. If anything comes up, the community will be notified about it.

What are the plans for the Q4?

R: The release of the Union Pay PolisPay cards beta. ERC20 tokens We will add Trezor support, we will be the only noncustodial app that has Trezor support, and that accepts cards. Trezor support will be probably added next month.

Olympus protocol: Olympus is a project that the team has been working on; it will be a network that will allow us to do some experiments on. Olympus alpha, it is going to be a new protocol, it will be on the polis core wallet. More information will be released about it.

Other use cases: POS Payment tools by Hans will enable merchants to use and accept Polis as payments, there still no target date to be released, but it will be out soon.

PolisPay shift: most secure atom swap application with Trezor integration. PolisNodes: it is still going strong

PolisPay vouchers: will allow you to buy a gift card from different places. The Olympus protocol will enable more future use cases. We will start looking for new exchanges once we have something new to give once we have a differential value amongst other masternode coins.

Are the PolisPay cards the final solution?

R: Right now, the PolisPay objective is to become in the only non-custodial wallet that allows you to change between cryptocurrencies (shift) and deposit them into a crypto debit card. We do realize that the Union Pay solution is a short term solution because of the relatively high fees and smaller availability in other countries in comparison with MasterCard. We have been negotiating with MasterCard for the past six months so that we can recover our old cards. We hope that by the end of August we will have an answer. We are also in talks with Visa as a provider in Europe. We will update you soon.

What can the community expect?

R: We will never give up, we’ve had a series of inconveniences, and we have always strived and worked against them and to whatever challenge we are presented with. We are not going anywhere.

When will the PolisPay gift card feature be available?

R: It will be available as an open beta on August 15th.

Can Polis be one of the best 100 top coins?

R: Definitely, we are going hard on cards, and we are innovating on our blockchain. We want to stop being seen as a Dash fork only. It will take time and hard work, but we will surely achieve it.

What are the plans for 2020 and 2021?

R: Finishing Olympus protocol, which has endless possibilities. We want to incorporate Binance chain. We want to be the most secure and reliable wallet out there. We want to break out of the mold of the other Masternode coins, and the Olympus protocol is what will really position ourselves one step ahead of the other masternode coins. We want to experiment more with the Olympus network. We want to start taking advantage of the unused masternode power, and we want to be the most secure and reliable crypto wallet out there.
