Polis Project Weekly Updates (02/12 to 02/18)
Polis Core
A new version of Polis Core, v1.6.1, is being developed. This version will address the activation of quorums on the mainnet, once these become active PoSe will enter in full effect.
This version is still being developed and will be released shortly. Stay tuned for more updates.
PolisPay
The PolisPay team is working on a new release, v8.4.0, this version will introduce new gift cards and features that will enhance our users’ experience.
Gift card expansion
As part of our expansion New providers will be added soon to the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
A variety of gift cards are being added, such as mobile top-up, internet recharges, DTH providers and many more. Currently, we are testing it for the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Mobile recharge
In the near future users will be able to recharge their mobile phones via the PolisPay app. These gift cards are currently being tested for the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This will include a variety of well known and popular cellular companies in each country. After the test, more countries will follow alongside a variety of providers across the globe.
Trustless
Your wallet will no longer require to be connected to our servers to perform basic wallet functionality. You will be able to introduce the URL of your own blockbook servers to which you can request your balance and transaction data, as well as broadcast transactions.
Note: Shift and Gift Card features will keep relying on our own servers.
PolisPay card
We are thrilled to announce that the PolisPay card is back.
As part of our goal of implementing a debit card, that would allow any user to spend their crypto as quickly as they would using fiat currency, we started negotiations with card provider Union Pay, who opened up the possibility of using their cards within our app.
That is why we have finalized the process of negotiation and will begin the new process of developing the integration of prepaid Union Pay cards to the PolisPay app. Users will soon be able to use a debit card to spend their crypto on real-world goods and services.
Launch of the Closed Beta
The closed beta sign-up process officially finalized Wednesday February 12th, 2020. We will inform the community about which are the next steps, next week.
PolisNodes
The past week we made a couple of announcements about what we have in store, we are really excited about the upcoming future, stay tuned for further updates. We wanted to share with the community what are our future plans for the PolisNodes platform, in the coming months we have planned the following things:
- Add a much greater variety of coins to the platform.
- Add a much greater variety of currency payments, which will be converted to Polis.
- Add a referral system.
- Make the PolisNodes API public, in an effort that anybody can make their own hosting platform using the PolisNodes system.
- Add advanced features like reindexing button or watch block.
- 24/7 support.
- Allow users to create multiple masternodes at the same time.
- Upgrade the masternode creation time, improve efficiency.

We also recently announced that PolisNodes now accepts Divi as currency payment. We will be adding more coins every week, stay tuned for the announcements.
Community Management and Outreach
We’re glad to announce we have relaunched our official YouTube channel! We will be uploading a series of videos that will vary from tutorials to the Zoom webinars, everything related to the Polis Ecosystem.

Community members, Hans and Frank, have developed a PolisPay mobile landing page that allows any user to share the PolisPay related info to anyone in the world, in just a few taps. For the landing page here, and for a tutorial on how to upload it head here.
Also, Hans created a tool that allows users to gift Polis in a much easier way; this could be to give a tip at a restaurant, a simple gift, or price. Here’s the link for the gift QR, also here’s a short tutorial on how to load them.
