PolisPay

The team has been working on the next PolisPay release, version 8.0.0. This release will be a complete revamp to the platform, where new technologies will allow it to be more stable than ever.

This revamp emphasizes the restructuration of the services and moving them to brand new architecture. In such a way, that it prioritizes both the efficiency and security of the information while also making the PolisPay app a much faster and fluid experience. What users can expect from v8.0.0:

— Both the vouchers and shift services have received tremendous upgrades; we can’t wait to share the revitalized services with our community.

— Trezor integration has been finalized. Desktop users can now save their crypto assets in the safest way possible via Trezor hardware wallets.

— Easily import and export wallets. Users will be able to export their mnemonic phrases with a QR code that is fully encrypted. Also, users will be able to import their wallets using a QR scanner.

— Every voucher that is purchased with Polis will have a 0% fee. Vouchers purchased with other cryptocurrencies will have a 4% surcharge.

— This PolisPay version has begun internal testing on the new features

— ePay card integration and first batch rollout.

As part of our initiative of making the entire Polis ecosystem open-source and accessible, the team will make the entire PolisPay repository open for anyone who would like to contribute and enrich the sense of community. We will be able to build upon each other’s ideas and discoveries, solve problems together, promote collaboration, and thus become more secure and stable.

This update is still being worked, internal testing has begun.

PolisPay: epay card

Part of the next update, v.8.0.0, a new service will be available to our users. It consists of a black Prepaid Mastercard®️ rechargeable with vouchers, from the app. Users will be able to order the card and load it with gift cards via the app.

The epay card is a prepaid card that is managed on a prepaid basis. You can use your card to pay almost everywhere where MasterCard is accepted. On activation and once the card is topped up, you can use it worldwide: For online shopping, to pay in shops or to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The epay cards will be available for the following countries:

Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and United Kingdom.

Community member, Thomas (Evolbyte), has received the fist epay card loadable with vouchers/gift cards via the PolisPay app. Check out the photo he tweeted of when he received the card:

Regarding the PolisPay cards, there are some updates with the on-going process we would like to share:

— The UnionPay cards have arrived at our office.

— We have begun the integration progress.

Governance: PolisPay vouchers expansion

The past couple of weeks the PolisPay team alongside Bitcou GmbH has worked on a couple of improvements to the PolisPay app vouchers feature UI. We want the users to experience to be as smooth as possible, and with the improvements that are being worked on, we are closer to achieving our goal. Big companies and suppliers will be added soon to the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

As part of the brand new wide variety of gift cards/vouchers, more countries will follow alongside big companies and suppliers. Users from the following countries will have the gift cards/vouchers feature available with the next update:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, UK, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, and the US.

Here are some screenshots of the gift cards feature:

These features are still being worked on, updates will soon follow.

Community Management and Outreach

As part of an initiative incentivize the members of the Polis community to generate more projects on the Polis Ecosystem and to help the project in many ways, we have decided to create the channel #spartans on Discord.

There will be two main categories or roles within the community members: Spartans: the community members that wish to become Spartans will get access to public betas. To become a spartan, you just need to type on the #spartans channel:

!spartan

In the future, the community will vote on the most prominent Spartans and whether or not they shall be promoted to Athenians (Trusted Members).

Athenians: Trusted members of the community will get access to closed betas. They will also be part of monthly AMA where they will answer questions from the community on the project and on the current development status of the things that are being worked on.

We want to remind you that you can follow us on the following Social Media Networks:

We’re deeply grateful for all your support from our community and our partner’s communities, and we want to thank you for reading. Together we are strong, and we will strive just as we’ve done before to give you all the best!
