Ich Bin Ein Dubliner, rather than…
Rather that pan-🇪🇺 supply ⛓s being threatened by Brexit, 🏴’s supply ⛓s are though.
Brexit, after all, means Brexit.
FT article highlights this fact of leaving the Single Market:
“…goods that arrive in the UK “zero tariff” but are not altered in any way and re-exported to the EU do not count as “UK-origin” and so face the full EU common external tariff on returning to the EU…”
Brexiteers hope that the 🇪🇺 will let them have their 🎂 (be inside the SM) and eat it (without paying what 🇳🇴 pays as a non-member to be inside the SM) is, well, hopeless.
Supply ⛓s to 🇮🇪 via 🏴 are v negatively impacted by Brexit.
Where economically efficient ways can’t be found to service Irish salad and bread addicts, it’s a matter of identity for the EU (epater les Brexiteers) to ensure 🇮🇪 will get what it needs, just as the Berlin Airlift was for the west.
Ich Bin Ein Dubliner and all that.
Reconfigure supply ⛓s now – don’t think the 🇪🇺 will cave in to Brexiteers’ forlorn hopes of having their 🍰 and eating it or of 🍒 picking.
